Astounding home built 3d printer

Hacker and engineer Junior Veloso has built an astounding high resolution printer in his own home.

As you can see from the video (just after the fold) Junior’s built an absurdly high resolution 3d printer that could conceivably fit on a desk. As he says on his site, he plans on opening the printer’s source and selling kits after funding it with a Kickstarter run.

Like Ponoko’s own Superfine plastic printing this process uses light to cure UV sensitive resin in tiny layers, building them up in hundreds of increments to produce the finished geometry.
