Joshua Harker, an artist who took up 3D printing to push beyond the limits of sculpting, took Kickstarter by storm last year with his Crania Anatomica Filigre<\/a> skull design.<\/p>\n

Now he’s back, with a new project called Anatomica di Revolutis<\/a> that builds on the aesthetics of his previous work and takes it to new heights.<\/p>\n

Harker’s first Kickstarter project raised nearly $80,000, while this latest one has over $20,000 in less than a week of funding. (In fact, the $20k mark was reached in just four days!)<\/p>\n

The project starts with an ornate skull design at the center, which combines with two other pieces to form an elaborate mechanical sculpture:<\/p>\n

Together, the pieces are meant to explore the dawn of a third industrial revolution… A revolution in which all parties are empowered by the maturity of 3D printing, along with the associated tools and services.<\/p>\n

The project’s pitch video actually ends with a compilation of industry players encouraging viewers to “join the revolution!” – including Ponoko’s own David ten Have.<\/p>\n
