The "impossible" tribar, also known as the Penrose triangle. This fantastic optical illusion has now been made possible through 3D printing. We have further enhanced the illusion by breaking it into cubes and added the dots of a die. Please be aware that unlike other attempts to create a Penrose triangle, this model does not have any hidden openings nor hidden twists. Since our brain 'knows' that a face has to be convex, not concave, it will re-interpret the visual impression accordingly. When we move in front of the hollow image, the hollow face will move opposite to a convex one. While our brain cannot accept the face as concave, it has to interpret the visual perception differently and the only reasonable interpretation is that the face follows our movements.
