Card Holder Wallet

These files are the cutting pattern for this leather Card Holder Wallet. Fits your credit cards, business cards and some folded cash. The flap folds over holding everything inside and I have never had an issue of stuff falling out in 2 years of use. The design is easily hand stitched together. The stitching holes are cut by the laser so you get a perfect straight line with even spacing.

I used approx 1mm/0.04" thick leather for the wallet.

The wallet in the photos has a pattern raster engraved in the leather. I have removed this from the file but you are free to add your own. It looks sweet with engraving.<br></br><img alt="Wallet_002_sml_showroom_image" src="http://static0.ponoko.com/design_images/images/27/36cbc06d-84ac-372a-9940-387d611fb70e/wallet_002_sml_showroom_image.jpg" />

Leather Ipod Case

These files are the cutting pattern for this leather iPod touch case. The design is in 2 halves which can be easily hand stitched together. The stitching holes are cut by the laser so you get a perfect straight line with even spacing.

I used approx 1mm/0.04" thick leather for the case.

The case in the photos has a pattern raster engraved in the leather. I have removed this from the file but you are free to add your own. It looks sweet with engraving.

This design would probably fit an iPhone as well but it would be tight. The leather would wear in over time and the perfect fit would be obtained.<br></br><img alt="Dsc_3215_showroom_image" src="http://static2.ponoko.com/design_images/images/27/203a2fe2-eb08-3eda-8196-1d8afd4c865b/dsc_3215_showroom_image.jpg" />

Camera Strap 40" x 1/2"

I made this strap for my camera because I was tired of the bright yellow Nikon sign hanging around my neck every time I went out shooting. So now I have this nice dark brown leather strap. It is 40" long and 1/2" wide.

It is made in 3 parts because I could only fit 32" in the laser cutter. I used black 1/4" Double Cap Steel rivets to connect it all together. Search ebay and you'll find them. Super cheap, super easy. Just hit them with a hammer and you are done. The split rings are 5/8" stainless rings from McMaster Carr.

This design does NOT make good use of a P3 sized piece of leather. You could maybe make 10 straps on one P3. Maybe you have friends who need straps or some other designs for leather.

You can make this on the Natural Russet leather in the catalog now. I would recommend requesting pre-dyed Russet leather though. (This is not made on the leather in the Ponoko catalog)<br></br><img alt="Strap-3_showroom_image" src="http://static2.ponoko.com/design_images/images/27/de05749b-b2b9-37e4-b6d6-5adbe6fdb997/strap-3_showroom_image.jpg" />

Robotic Arm Ponoko Ready File WIP

This is a start to getting:
http://www.ponoko.com/showroom/ClementFletchersPlace/open-source-robotic-arm-2674
From: http://www.oomlout.com
Open Source Robotic Arm optimized for Ponoko. Although you can cut this WIP file there are several steps to optimizing the layout to lower making costs. Could be quite a bit of savings so it'd be worth the time for someone making the design @ ponoko.
I have setup the design to conform to Ponoko's needs, regrouped parts for easier moving and moved a few spots of unneeded part overlap...

Here's some more changes I'd recommend take place in the file:

-Right now it's in a P3 sheet although this design might fit if re-nested into a P2 sheet; this will lower material cost and waste.

-Reorganize parts to share more cutlines. Lowers making cost.

-Remove shared overlapping cutlines. Lowers making cost.

-There are some more areas of unneeded part overlap that do not save money and might be simply small placement errors.

-Double check part dimensions to increase cutline sharing.
Some examples of uneven sides, the top of RARM-17 and the left side of part RARM-06A. There could be a reason for these that I'm unaware of?

-Couple circles that show as vector lines, double check that they shouldn't be cuts instead.

If you decide to make these changes to better this file for cutting in Ponokos system reupload the design for others to use. Let me know and I will link to the new file from this page.

Free plan for the Jolly Roger flag used by Calico Jack; an English pirate of the early 18th Century.
More about Calico Jack: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calico_Jack_Rackham

This file includes cutlines and two versions to etch either the background or the Jolly Roger design itself. The version with the jolly roger etched will look best as black acrylic and I have also included that as a necklace.

Note: You need to download the file and move the design of your choice into a fresh template as this file contains three versions.

Mst3shades Ponoko Ready File

This is the Mst3shades: http://bit.ly/Mst3shades
file from creator gianteye: http://bit.ly/Giant_Eye
over on thingverse.com

I just went ahead and got it into a P1 template for any of the 3mm thick materials. This includes all the acrylic colors, hardboard, delrin and one of the bamboo (US hub). The 4mm single layer cardboard more than likely also has enough give to fit together off this file.

Notes: I increased the depth of the screw paths 2mm. I had to adjust the scaling after importing the original .dxf into illustrator and based the size on screw holes and the proper spacing for a 3mm thick material.

A filler piece I added to a PETG sheet earlier in the year. Its purpose is to mark a page within a book you reference often. The original one I made grabbed the paper to the point you had to be careful not to rip the paper taking it off. I went ahead and included a revision that uses a larger gap between the front and back; hopefully giving it less of a grab.

Squiddy the Extremely Angry Octopus Necklace Plan

With Squiddy the extremely angry octopus I tried to capture "frenzied murderous rage" on his little one eyed face. I think I succeeded!

The antenna growing out of the top of his head picked up broadcast TV. Sadly he missed the recent change to digital so he's been missing his favorite soaps...hence the rage.

Feel free to switch his expression from "frenzied murderous rage" to "blissful happiness" because he scored a free subscription to reader's digest...

Cut Squiddy from acrylic in any color of your choosing; although I think he'd look totally tubular in black.

The ant is an interactive character designed to allow the movement of the mandibles and the rear pair of legs. Not only can they move but pushing one can force the other by means of a simple mechanism. When the mandibles are open, moving the rear legs back will close the mandibles. Once the mandibles are closed one can open them and push the rear legs open. It helps to move each of these parts symmetrically, though part of the function of the mechanism allows for slight flexibility when applying the forces.
The mechanism is a simple pulley system where the left mandible is linked to the left leg and the right mandible is linked to the right leg. The machine screws allow for smooth motion and secure string.

Interactive Character

The arms move when the legs are rotated. This simulates a walking motion, with the verb being to walk. The legs are connected to the dinosaur with 3/16" dowels while the arms are connected with 1" brads. The arms are then connected to the legs with small dowels. The body of the dinosaur is three separate pieces, connected together at the tail as well as in between the arm and leg holes using rubber spacers. <br></br><img alt="Haynesdino1_showroom_image" src="http://static2.ponoko.com/design_images/images/18698/fb5cb2b5-113e-3773-94cf-f13f705544ff/haynesdino1_showroom_image.jpg" />

Yank - The Orangutan

My goal was to simulate a human yanking their hair out of frustration. I used small "strong, super magnets" as fingers and 24-gauge silver metal wire with yarn to create the effect.

Some production notes: Finding an adhesive to work well with the acrylic was difficult. I first used Krazy Glue (which worked well with the prototype) but not with the acrylic. I thought of other adhesives, but worried about how they might ruin the aesthetics of the clear plastic (elmers, rubber glue, etc.) So I ended up using a glue gun.

I should've did used more "acrylic" products: paint, markers, adhesive. Also, the arms could've been shorter. The plastic made them rather heavy.

The Trotec laser is a very intuitive machine and with more time, I would definitely make something else. Perhaps I will.<br></br><img alt="Frustrate_002_showroom_image" src="http://static3.ponoko.com/design_images/images/18674/f415ae6e-8b38-3334-95d3-1a1e9f3a7ee2/frustrate_002_showroom_image.jpg" />

Octopus

This is an octopus who moves around and rings bells. Bells are not included or necessary. His eyes and mouth are sold separately. Also, the fish brads used to attach his tentacles are sold separately. Everything is sold separately except his body and tentacles. Actually that is not even being sold. You can take that.
This is a must-have item for any aquatic themed home or office. <br></br><img alt="Harriet_showroom_image" src="http://static2.ponoko.com/design_images/images/18676/a6e27c45-b749-347c-b2e7-957b9a8458d4/harriet_showroom_image.jpg" />

Lobster Pinch

This lobster is designed to perform the verb "pinch." This is accomplished by moving the black poles attached to the top claw up and down. The claws are able to move because the top claws are separately attached to the rest of the lobster by screws.<br></br><img alt="Tid_008_showroom_image" src="http://static0.ponoko.com/design_images/images/18657/9a4338b7-b300-31d7-bd5e-626de833e969/tid_008_showroom_image.jpg" />

For my project I created a man who claps his hands. To move the object, a person must pull the string on the back of the man so he can clap his hands. His arms move forward so he can clap. On the man, one would see that he is wearing a orange shirt with black pants. His orange shirt is decorated with blue and gold designs. On his black pants he has silver circles for a design. The man is standing on green acrylic so he can stand up. This acrylic is good support so a person can pull the string so he claps his hands. This figure is a good designed for children to play with.
