This is a FREE design template to partner the 'Dinghy Building: Houdini' web page: http://chrismolloy.com/www/p130 This design contains router templates for the centrecase and the frame member used in frame #3 and #5. Note that the centrecase template combines the two ends into a single template (i.e. part of the template is used to shape each end of the centrecase). The template is designed to be applied to a P3 material sheet. I can recommend the double-sided whiteboard as a suitable material.

Surfboard Rulers, Fin Placement

This template includes 2 useful rulers on the same sheet of material for helping you shape a surfboard. I suggest 0.5mm clear PETG. You are only buying the template file from me and not the actual rulers. You use the template file to create the rulers through ponokos website. Send me a message if you have any questions The first ruler is a 12" x 24" clear flexible rectangle that is placed on the string of the board and allows you to easily mark dimensions to the rail and fin placements. There is also a cutout on the ruler to help draw the fin lines. This ruler also includes 30, 45, and 60 degree lines. The second ruler is a 30" straight edge. Both rulers have a hole to hang them and are laser etched. You will need to rub some black stuff into the etching so you can clearly see the markings. Good luck and shape away.

This is a flexible version of the standard vary form garment ruler design. It can be easily customised to create a ruler for specific proportions that are not catered to by generic pattern drafting equipment. The engraving can be filled in to make the markings more visible: dark for working with predomintantly light-coloured fabrics or light for the dark coloured fabrics. Custom rulers are great in a shared workroom: engrave your name into the plastic and never lose your ruler again! Two designs can fit on a P3.
