Lasered Emblems & Medallions

I'm posting a new technique that employs a process I call 2-1/2 D laser etching in high relief. After multiple passes in the acrylic we hand polish the prototype after etching it, than make a silicon mold and reproduce exact copies. We use faux metal finishing techniques to produce a metallic finish that could fool most people. This is just an example of a technique that is possible on most lasers and employs using silicon mold making rubber and two-part casting resin which is available through most polymer supply companies. Polishing is done using a high speed cloth buffing wheel and a plastic polishing compound. Quality reproductions depend on a superior original prototype.
