      <title>Prometheus</title>
      <link>http://www.ponoko.com/showroom/Resident/241</link>
<description>In Greek mythology Prometheus gave humanity fire (and got into big trouble for doing so).

My Prometheus7 candelabra doesn't do anything so grand, but with good food, some wine, the right music and someone special you might find it can bring some fire to an evening.

      <title>Directives: Reflect Mirror</title>
      <link>http://www.ponoko.com/showroom/carladiana/2393</link>
      <description>&#8226; made to order
&#8226; exists only digitally until ordered
&#8226; manufactured as locally as possible
&#8226; ships
&#8226; press fit assembly
&#8226; cutouts cast shadows

Directives integrate language and poetry into the everyday environment, emphasizing the idea of design as authorship. Each piece is created around a concise statement to serve as a personal, daily reminder. Included in the line is a stool (&quot;rest&quot;), a desk (&quot;work&quot;) and a mirror (&quot;reflect&quot;).

Their manufacturing process is highly efficient because they exist only as digital files until ordered, and then are manufactured and shipped locally. Once an order is in place, it is manufactured and shipped from a facility that is local to the customer. They are flat packed and assembled by the user using only a mallet.

Every part is lasercut from flat materials. The dark, burnt edges, a natural result of the laser cutting process, are showcased as a graphical element that frames the form. The hollow cutout of the letterforms allows light to shine through and cast a shadow of the word on a nearby surface.

      <title>Gothic Lantern</title>
      <link>http://www.ponoko.com/showroom/DSCulp/5150</link>
      <description>Gothic meets modern

This flat-pack lighting design takes the gothic patterns of cathedral windows and recreates them with the laser cutter.

Cut from a single P3 sheet of 5.8mm Euromaple, the panels of this 5-sided lantern cast their unique shadows when lit from within. The pattern has been designed so that this lantern can stand on its feet and use either a candle or be wired for illumination. If wired, the unit may also hang as a traditional church lantern.

If wiring light, some adjustments to base may be required, depending on parts available.

Finished dimensions are 26cm high and 22cm in diameter.
