Framed Silhouettes don't have to hang on your wall anymore! With this set of 4 wooden coasters you can be sure to add a little bit of fancy under that refreshing drink. And maybe even spruce up your table and home. The hand drawn silhouettes have been cut from the wood and the fancy ornate frame was engraved into the surface of the wood. The coasters have been laser cut from Colour Rimu wood, that has been hand rubbed with tung oil to protect them. This set of coasters contains one coaster of each silhouetted figure. Size: 3.375" x 3.375" and approx .25" thick. Material: Cherry Diecut sillouetets and engraved frames make some super fancy drink coasters!

Each piece is created around a concise statement to serve as a personal, daily reminder. Included in the line is a stool ("rest"), a desk ("work") and a mirror ("reflect"). Their manufacturing process is highly efficient because they exist only as digital files until ordered, and then are manufactured and shipped locally. Once an order is in place, it is manufactured and shipped from a facility that is local to the customer. They are flat packed and assembled by the user using only a mallet. Every part is lasercut from flat materials. The dark, burnt edges, a natural result of the laser cutting process, are showcased as a graphical element that frames the form. The hollow cutout of the letterforms allows light to shine through and cast a shadow of the word on a nearby surface.

Inspired by Neal Stephenson's "Snow Crash" The furniture piece uses the language of binary to create a place that holds the self as represented in the metaverse. The engravings on the piece include circuit board on the base units (one side) and rectangular forms on the top in dimensions roughly equivalent to many common electronic devices. The table is roughly 31.5"x15.5"x14", it is easy to assemble and allows for numerous configurations of the base units.
