Whiteboard bookcase

This was my first real go at a 3D product with Ponoko. Motivation came from wanting a bookcase that would fit inside that particular nook next to the kitchen. My wife chose the material and I just tried to make it all work :)

Features differing sized shelves for things like large books, vinyl, DVDs, CDs, speakers, medium books, small books, etc.<br></br><img alt="Dsc_0040_showroom_image" src="http://static0.ponoko.com/design_images/images/10/cd7ca304-3794-3370-8535-c660ef790850/dsc_0040_showroom_image.jpg?1236057528" />

Shruti-1 Synthesizer Case

--General Info--
http://mutable-instruments.net/shruti1
The Shruti-1 is a compact, digital synthesizer with a genuine analog filter, based on the CEM3379 chip. If you haven't heard of it, it's too late; you can't get one because it's discontinued.

Anyway, this case is extremely compact and minimal, which fits the overall theme and aesthetic of the device. This is a slight modification of the original case, which can be seen, here: http://www.glitched.org/up/diy-shruti-1-synthesizer-glitched/

There were two main changes: 1) removed the rear "hack_me" ports and 2) moved the volume knobs forward by a few millimeters to give more clearance to the power switch prongs.

When made with 3.0 mm white acrylic on a P2 sheet, these are the costs:
Making cost: $9.10
Material cost: $8.66
(+ shipping)

--Assembly Notes--

These are the standoffs I used:

McMaster PN#
91780A427 ALUMINUM FEMALE THREADED HEX STANDOFF, 1/4" HEX, 13/32" LENGTH, 4-40 SCREW
91780A103 ALUMINUM FEMALE THREADED HEX STANDOFF, 3/16" HEX, 1/4" LENGTH, 2-56 SCREW

The 1/4" standoffs support the control and i/o PCBs; the 3/16" standoffs go with the LCD. Remember: you'll need to get the screws that mate with the standoffs. (4-40's are easy to find, but 2-56's may not be readily available. I was lucky to find a Radio shack with an assortment.) As I mentioned in the aforementioned drop.io link, I opted to glue the standoffs to the case, using epoxy. This worked best for me, but you can use whatever method you want.

You will have to glue the four sides to the bottom to keep it sturdy, but the top should fit pretty well without any adhesive (you might want to get in there one day, anyway).

--Other Info--

I spent a lot of time on the design, but am offering it up for free, in the spirit of open-sourceness.

If you would like to donate a small amount of money, which will subsidize future projects (including a case for the upcoming "Shruthi-1" synthesizer, which will be shared), send via paypal to: dl [at] glitched [dot] org.<br></br><img alt="Product-plan" src="http://static3.ponoko.com/images/public_website/template/showroom/product-plan.gif?1323049577" />

Monochron Clock Enclosure

Alternative enclosure for the wonderful Monochron clock kit from Adafruit Industries. The enclosure the kit comes with is a beautiful laser-cut and -etched black acyrlic, which is sadly highly prone to breakage if the clock is to be transported often, or sometimes makes unexpected trips off the dresser. Thus, this enclosure is made from somewhat less pretty but far more forgiving black delrin.

Case assembles using the same directions as the acrylic one, which can be found here: http://ladyada.net/make/monochron/case.html

All pictures from Adafruit Industries, until I get a chance to get pictures of this product.<br></br><img alt="6pieces_showroom_image" src="http://static2.ponoko.com/design_images/images/40266/3a258f90-e13a-3755-ae5e-238c78c6d3cf/6pieces_showroom_image.jpg?1300839799" />

Leather Camera Case

This file is the cutting pattern for this leather Camera Case, which is designed to fit a point and shoot camera that's 97mmW x 62mmH x 23mmD. The case is designed to be hand stitched together with ease, as the stitching holes are lasercut to ensure perfect, evenly spaced stitching.

The design is for 2.5mm Russet leather, although thinner leather can be used. The photos show the engraved version of the camera case, but the engraving design has been removed from the design file, so you can add you own pattern. The file does not include the strap.

The design takes 1min 19sec to cut without any engraving (cheap!), and three designs can be fitted onto a P2. If you are adjusting the design for a slightly smaller camera, it should be possible to fit four designs onto a P2.

To complete the case you need:
•	10mm rivet if you’re making a strap and using 2.5mm leather
•	Snap dome (you will need a washer to pack the shank if you’re using thin leather
•	Thick industrial thread (double layer)

Assembly notes:
It’s easiest to start the stitching at the opening, sew down to the bottom corner and reverse back to the opening. This will make it easier to tie the end knot. Length of the thread should be about six time more than the seam length.

This is a small enclusure to house a 6000 mAh LiPo battery and a charge/boost PCB with USB output. I was using this as a general 5 volt power supply and wanted a compact enclosure to protect the battery and circuit.
