3D Chess Set

At the turn of the 19th century, a game of 3D chess was invented by the name of Raumschach. Soon after this, coffee houses were opened specifically for the playing of the game. But what has happened to it since? Here is a new Raumschach board, ready for you to bring it into the 21st century 100 years later.

The board is made of crystal clear acrylic, and the pieces in two shades of tinted grey.

It is currently in development to ensure ease of assembly.)

Steampunk Gears

This set of gears is a design I use for my wall graphic business. It has been very popular with customers and I thought it would look wicked actually cut out of a material so that it would have depth. It would be suitable as wall decor or as accents on DIY cabinets, chests, drawers, boxes etc. One suggestion for finishing this design would be to cut it from MDO and apply a spray brass finish then "weather it" by wiping with some black paint in a few spots, leaving just enough to suggest age and corrosion.

Lasered Emblems & Medallions

I'm posting a new technique that employs a process I call 2-1/2 D laser etching in high relief. After multiple passes in the acrylic we hand polish the prototype after etching it, than make a silicon mold and reproduce exact copies. We use faux metal finishing techniques to produce a metallic finish that could fool most people. This is just an example of a technique that is possible on most lasers and employs using silicon mold making rubber and two-part casting resin which is available through most polymer supply companies. Polishing is done using a high speed cloth buffing wheel and a plastic polishing compound. Quality reproductions depend on a superior original prototype.
