      <title>Replica 1934 Chrysler Airflow showroom frame model</title>
      <link>http://www.ponoko.com/showroom/ChryslerAirflow/5009</link>
<description>The all new 1934 Airflow Chrysler and DeSoto models featured dozens of revolutionary new features not seen before in a production automobile.

To demonstrate the space frame chassis design, Chrysler made available to dealers a steel wireframe model of the car's structure. Measuring about 17&quot; long, this frame model cost dealers $2.50 each at the height of the Great Depression. Not many were sold and only a handful are known to survive today.

This plastic replica was made by having an original Chrysler metal frame model 3D laser scanned. The resulting computer file is then printed for you full size in a white plastic material. To finish your display model you will have to spray paint it yourself with a &#8220;rattle can&#8221; in silver or dull aluminum metallic color.

In the photos shown, the white frame on black background is the modern plastic replica. The silver frame and detail on white background are of the original 1934 model. Also shown is the four page 1934 factory brochure showing the promotional products available to dealers to help sell the new cars.
