Helps to eliminate excessive scuffing, static buildup, and potential shorts all of which greatly extends the life of your microcontroller. The top is open for easy use of shields or access to the pins. No hardware or glue is necessary (but a little glue never hurts). Cost of material, plus taxes, plus cutting time is about $9 (then add on S&H). Two stands fit on a single sheet. So the file makes two (Like in the picture; there are two stands.
