(New Zealand) Pentiamonds (18 sets plus 3) P2

There are 4 possible different 'pentiamond' shapes, as shown in the photos. This item consists of 18 sets (i.e. 72 pieces, a set being 4 pieces, one of each shape) plus 3 extra pieces.

The main photo shows two of the many shapes which you can make with one set. A crayon and a coin (US quarter) are shown for scale.

The following is a link to a pdf file with several puzzle shapes to try to make with a set of 4 pentiamonds. You should be able to print the pdf and have the puzzle shapes come out the same scale as the puzzle pieces, so you can work right on top of the printed puzzle as you try to make it from pentiamonds:
https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B80etP8uQhDgZzU4azJyZUxXTFE

A couple of the photos show the puzzle pieces with the paper backing still on them. The paper backing looks quite nice on one side, as shown, but on the other side there are visible burn marks in the paper from the laser cutting process. So you will probably want to peel the paper off.

There are 4 possible different 'pentiamond' shapes, as shown in the photos. This item consists of 1 set of 4 pieces, 1 of each of the 4 shapes.

The main photo shows two sets. Another photo shows two shapes, each of which can be made from one set. A crayon and a coin (US quarter) are shown for scale.

The following is a link to a pdf file with dozens of puzzle shapes to try to make with a set of 4 pentiamonds. You should be able to print the pdf and have the puzzle shapes come out the same scale as the puzzle pieces, so you can work right on top of the printed puzzle as you try to make if from pentiamonds:

The pieces come with paper backing one both sides. A couple of the photos show the puzzle pieces with this paper backing still on them. The paper backing looks quite nice on one side, as shown, but on the other side there are visible burn marks in the paper from the laser cutting process. So you will probably want to peel the paper off.

Tetrahex puzzle pieces, 1 set (7 pieces).

There are 7 possible different 'tetrahex' shapes. This item consists of 1 set of these shapes, i.e. one piece of each of the 7 shapes, as shown in the photo. A crayon and a coin (US quarter) are shown for scale. The other photo shows 1 of the many shapes you can make with these 7 pieces. I have intentionally left a bit of space between the pieces in this photo so you can more easily see the individual pieces; the pieces actually fit together quite snugly. The fuzzy white blobs visible on some of the pieces are reflections of clouds in the sky.

The acrylic sheet has paper backing on both sides during laser cutting, and this paper will still be attached when you receive it. You will need to peel the paper off yourself.

Tetrahex puzzle pieces, 8 sets (56 pieces)

This is the design file for the tetrahex puzzle pieces in my showroom. From a P2 (15.75" x 15.75") sheet It makes 56 pieces: 8 copies of each of the 7 tetrahex shapes.

The photos show one set of 7 pieces, and one of the many shapes you can make from a set. The third image shows (as blue lines) the cuts made by the laser as it cuts the pieces out of the square sheet.

As of Sept 23 2012, Ponoko will make this design from 3 mm acrylic for:
$10.99 (material) + $18.57 (laser-cutting) + approx. $11 (shipping by UPS ground to lower 48 U.S. states).
