I come from a classic product design background but have been increasingly drawn to exploring digital world-physical world design boundaries. One way I am doing this is through a start up business developing mobile phone user oriented services and the other is through designing pieces that take advantage of the doors that Ponoko opens. I find the future scary, exciting and increasingly hard to predict as technology races ahead of our understanding, expectations and ability to comprehend consequences. The idea of a world where we can print out products as easily as we now print a page of text is right up there with the scariest, most exciting and least predictable.
