These four jigsaw puzzle pieces can either be used individually as coasters, or fitted together to form a trivet. The trivet size is approximately 210 mm by 210 mm. To clean the puzzle pieces, handwash or machine wash on a gentle cycle and dry flat.

Carbon: periodic table necklace

This necklace features the element carbon from the periodic table. The pendant is 26 mm square and 4 mm thick. The wood is sealed to protect the timber, and the pendant is hung on an 18 inch long and 1.2 mm wide silver plated snake chain and is fastened with a lobster clasp. Carbon is the chemical basis of all known life, and appears in many forms including graphite and diamond. Trees incorporate carbon from atmospheric carbon dioxide into biomass, slowing the accumulation of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. By making objects from wood this carbon is stored forever. This necklace can be taken as a geeky reminder of a serious issue, or simply as an interesting science themed piece.

Fractal coasters: set of 2

A quirky set of two coasters. The coaster design is a Sierpinski carpet, an example of a fractal. The coasters are 4 mm thick, 90 mm square and are laser cut from Italian Poplar plywood sourced from sustainable plantation forests. To clean the coasters, wipe them clean with a damp cloth. They are not dishwasher safe and should not be soaked.
