Daisy chain

What describes summer best than sitting in the park , making daisy chains. Awesome! Putting these daisies together is so much fun, and what a rewarding result. Love it!

The photo’s demonstrate that the concept works… but cut from styrene; this material really doesn’t do the concept justice.
Beg , plea and bribe Ponoko to cut it from tyvek, fabric, paper, anything that’s soft playful, beautiful.

One swallow doesn't make a summer

Early summer evening and a flock of swallows fill the sky....

Nine silhouettes cleverly grouped together on a coiled string. Cut from black acrylic.<br></br><img alt="Birds1-colour_showroom_image" src="http://static3.ponoko.com/design_images/images/6439/47d4c844-3c82-3506-9cde-b5cb81eef37b/birds1-colour_showroom_image.jpg?1236078004" />

Daisy chain

What describes summer more than making daisy chains in the sun?

And just like a real daisy chain this is jewelery for a day. Cut from paper or tyvek this design is just for that one special occasion.

Let the paper overlap so each flower is made of three layers, held together by pulling the 'heart' through the other two layers. You decide how long you want your chain...<br></br><img alt="Daisychain1_showroom_image" src="http://static1.ponoko.com/design_images/images/6439/0fd34699-9013-37b4-aae3-26b9fbfd551a/daisychain1_showroom_image.jpg?1236077976" />

Layer-puzzle

Sixteen layers of clear acrylic stacked together to form a cube capturing 12 balls in its space.

The Ponoko team provided the precision cut layers, I sourced the chrome steel balls…
Don’t let the millions of combinations put you off; it’s a challenging puzzle for sure, but by no means impossible to solve. Give it a try and I’m sure you’ll find it very rewarding. Piece it together and marvel at its beauty as you see it grow and come together. This puzzle is so much fun!

And the fun doesn’t stop once finished; the way the acrylic and chrome capture the light is mesmerizing. Once in front of you you can't take your hands nor eyes off it. Be amazed by the reflection of light; in the sun, under a spotlight or play with colored LED’s as I did for some of the photos.

The one that got away

‘The one that got away’

Thirteen runners ready at the start line but only twelve seem to make it to the finish…?
This puzzle is not about the pieces falling together; that’s the easy part. You solved its mystery when you can explain what happened to the one that got away.
This little puzzle makes an excellent conversation piece on your desk or coffee table.

Crocodile-ball

Thirty crocodiles entangled in a magic ball; no glue, no screws.
Find the underlying geometric pattern to weave the crocodiles together. If that’s not enough challenge for you; invent your own rules how they interact. There are three different crocodiles and you decide how they can or can’t interact. ‘Would you still be asleep if someone was biting your tail?’
