"Magic" Mirror - Fairest Krystal

This is part of my new fun collection of mirrors. I have a total of 10 different mirror designs currently - collect them all - and I have drawings for many more to come! I thought it would be fun to create a series of mirrors that would be (somewhat) functional to wear around the neck to do a last minute makeup check. The matching earrings have smaller mirrors on them which throw off just enough "flash" as you pass by. Magic mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all - I can guarantee that you'll never see any others fairer than these! This mirror has an octagonal frame and hangs from the base of the mirror handle. I have embellished the mirror with crystals in flower and round shapes (which are actually embellishments designed for finger nail art since these are the best size for the acrylic jewelry). When ordering, let me know: 1) what color scheme you would like - both acrylic color (black, white, blue, red or opal) and 2) the crystal color(s), as well as 3) the size - which is dictated by the size of available craft mirrors which are typically 1" for the larger mirror and 1/2" for the earrings. This is my first butterfly and I will do more over time. I had so much fun drawing the wings and working with the positive and negative spaces as well as maintaining the thickness of the lines for the laser cutting process. I hope you will enjoy wearing this flighty creation as much as I did making it for you! This piece is based on a public domain image that I fell in love with. If an item is in the public domain as this one was, it means that it was created before 1923 and there is no longer a copyright on it. There are many beautiful free images like this available on the web and they are beautiful inspirations for current laser-cut acrylic jewelry designs. I have modified the image greatly to work with the laser-cutting. There was quite a bit of manipulation to allow for the positive and negative spaces and making the outlines thick enough to withstand the laser cuts without dropping out. The size of the piece is 2-1/4" round. As delicate and airy as the design is, it is a fairly sturdy piece. In fact, it holds up well in the smaller size of the earrings as well. \You can order it in your choice of black, red, white, opal or blue acrylic. These adorable light bulbs were originally designed for a private customer and they came out so good that I decided to include them in my line. Having an alternate meaning, the lightbulb stands for ideas and creativity. Laser cut from Opal acrylic, this color is most natural for a light bulb. A single star shaped clear crystal (which are actually embellishments designed for finger nail art since these are the best size for the silhouette jewelry) accents the light bulb to give it a glistening look. This Art Deco inspired design was inspired by a vintage pin that I own. The basic shape is similar to the vintage piece but that's where the similarity ends. The original design is composed of marcasite on sterling silver and I interpreted this effect as black acrylic intricately covered in clear crystals (which are actually embellishments designed for finger nail art since these are the best size for the acrylic jewelry). Laser cutouts replace dimensional curves. The lightweight acrylic base allows for a larger, bolder statement. Since it takes very well to the laser cutting, all the different variations are available. I am offering it in several different sizes as well as earrings. You will have your choice of 2 sizes of pendants/pins and 2 sizes of earrings, but other sizes are certainly available as custom orders. You can choose from black, red, white, opal or blue acrylic. Ask about color availability - if it has to be ordered, it takes between 2-3 weeks to special order. The large starfish is 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" and the medium is 1-1/2" x 1-1/2". The earrings are 1" x 1" and 3/4" x 3/4". I have had fun embellishing these with crystals - I have used star, flower and round styles (which are actually embellishments designed for finger nail art since these are the best size for the acrylic jewelry) mixed together in fantastic color combinations. This fairy, with a flower crystal in her flowing hair, sits upon a moonbeam surrounded by glistening crystal stars. This whimsical fairy was fun to create. Based on a public domain image, she was modified to fit the laser process. The butterfly fairy is holding a rose (highlighted by a floral crystal). The fairy measures 2-1/4" from head to toes and 1-3/4" across. She is available in black, white, red or opal acrylic.
