What is it
An MDF core with a 0.5 mm real timber veneer on each side.
Veneer MDF has a thickness tolerance of +/-10% the stated material thickness.

Design notes
Veneered MDF has a high grade appearance and is consistant in thickness. Laser cuts with a dark edge and engraving does not go through to the MDF.
Grain direction will always run horizontal as drawn on the computer screen.
Typical uses
Cabinetmaking, furniture fittings & linings, boat interiors. Also ideal for commercial and residential interior fittings and linings. Not suitable for exterior use.

Veneers sourced from species not on the 'World List of Threatened Trees'* *http://www.iucn.org/bookstore/index.html.
Adhesives, joints & fastenings
Construction adhesives will bond boards well. Follow the adhesive manufacturer's instructions for application processes. Screw joints should be pre-drilled to avoid splitting.


Tips from other designers
These materials are called 1/4 inch by the manufacturer. In measuring them they seem to fall in the range of 5.5mm - 6mm / 0.220" - 0.239"
The 6.4mm / .25in walnut is closer to 5.40mm / .212in.
