What is it
A solid panel product laminated from 6 mm strips of bamboo.
Design notes
A golden brown color with a fine grain. The bamboo joints are visible on the surface and break up the grain creating a unique appearance.
Grain direction will always run horizontal as drawn on the computer screen.
Typical uses
Cabinetmaking, furniture fittings & linings, Also ideal for commercial and residential interior fittings and linings. Not suitable for exterior use.
Environmental info
Bamboo is 100% renewable.
Adhesives, joints & fastenings
Bamboo panel can be cut and sanded using conventional woodworking equipment and offers excellent dimensional stability. It can also be glued or mechanically fastened using the same materials and fasteners commonly used with wood.



Tips from other designers
Intricate cuts with parts less than 2mm/0.078" can burn and disintegrate. Having details smaller than this is not recommended.
the bamboo must be 4mm. this is for the sunglasses frame
sands quickly!
Which is good since I designed for the original spec of 5.0 mm :)
Note that the grain always runs horizontally.
I just got my test piece, and on a P1, the thickness varies from around 5.05 to 5.55 mm. The weird thing is that the thickness increases at a pretty steady rate, running across the grain. It's not random at all. (at least on this piece. YMMV)
And the cutting takes away about 0.05-0.09mm.
And sanding the burnt edge off (if you choose to do so) takes off roughly another 0.1mm
