Has a smooth finish on one side and a suede like finish on the other.
Vegetable tanning is the most the most natural and environmental-friendly method, able to give leather unique characteristics of comfort and look and even of scent.
The vegetable tanning process is based on the use of tannin, an active ingredient extracted from trees and plants, contained in bark, leaves, wood, fruits and roots.
Vegetable-tanned leather becomes older without ruining. The natural ageing does not compromise its resistance and gives it a vintage look.
Leather is a whole natural material, so every leather is different from another in color, thickness and softness, as surface can be more or less veined. One side is smooth, while the other side has a suede like finish.
Specific oils can make it waterproof.

No animal is killed for its skin. On the contrary, the raw hides used by our tanneries are the discarded by-products of the food industry producing meat for human consumption.
Being tanned with natural tannins, vegetable-tanned leather can be easily recycled at the end of its life.
Many of the substances used during the tanning process are recovered, recycled and reused in different fields: salt is recycled and reused as de-icer on the streets; hair is transformed into agricultural fertilizer; sludge is reused to make bricks.
