PLEASE NOTE: This is the original version of the ShapeOko mill. This is not the newer version resulting from the recent kickstarter campaigne. If you're looking for details relating to the newer design, please visit www.shapeoko.com.

------------------

This nest includes all necessary MDF pieces to build a ShapeOko CNC mill. Please keep in mind there are several other components you will need in order to complete the build:

X & Y Axis Linear Guide: NSK LU15, you'll need 3 trucks and about 36inches of rail total.
Z Axis Rail: THK HRW-17CA(R), you only need 1 truck and about 4 inches of rail.
3 x Nema23 Stepper Motors: http://www.alltronics.com/cgi-bin/item/28M060_P/search/Lin-Engineering-5718X-05E-03-unipolar-stepper-motor
Power Supply: 24v 4.2A http://www.mpja.com/prodinfo.asp?number=17435+PS
3 x Stepper Drivers (several Options)

Arduino 328p or Compatible
- If you are going to use GRBL as the controller you may want to invest in a carrier board for the drivers: http://www.buildlog.net/blog/2011/08/stepper-driver-arduino-shield/

Alternatively you can use EMC2 to control the mill, in which case you'll need this carrier board: http://www.buildlog.net/blog/2011/08/open-source-4-axis-stepper-driver/

For Each axis (X,Y,Z) a lead nut is required. The design accomodates the 1" square flange variety provided by dumpstercnc.com. They can be found here: http://www.dumpstercnc.com/acme_12101.html (part #AC12101-FN) be sure to add the 1" square flange option. You will need 3 of those total.

Acme rod can be found from a variety of sources:
- McMaster-Carr [part# 98940A901]
- Enco [part# 408-0200]
- Grainger [part# 5DPX7]
- mscdirect [part# 03199338]

In order to connect the acme rod to your motors (on the X and Y axis') you will either need a 1/4" to 1/2" coupler: - --- - ------- http://www.ebay.com/itm/6-35x12-7mm-Shaft-Coupling-1-4-1-2-Flex-Coupler-/260826683333?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cba7b57c5#ht_3068wt_1110
- Or dumpstercnc.com has some cool ones as well: [part# AC12101-AC], select 1/4" bore.

*OR* if you have access to a skilled machinist, have them turn down your acme rods to 1/4" on the ends, in which case you could use a straight coupler
- McMaster-Carr [part# 6412K11]

Z-Axis Pulleys: McMaster-Carr [part# 57105K14]
Z-Axis Belt: McMaster-Carr [part# 1679K121]
