Please read this description thoroughly.
This part adapts a 3FF MicroSIM cellular service card to fit into devices using 2FF MiniSIM cards.
This design solves problems that many have encountered (particularly with Nokia's N950 developer device) with contact pins snagging on similar adapters. How? By shaping the adapter contours to deflect those pins as cards are inserted and/or removed.
NOTE: I cannot guarantee success for all uses and will not accept liability for any damage. Use at your own risk. Tested successfully in Nokia N950, Nokia N9 and Samsung Nexus S.
Suggestion: use the best polymer material Ponoko provides for this part. If you get a manufacturing warning from Ponoko on this part, you can safely ignore. Also, NEVER INSERT INTO A DEVICE WITHOUT THE MICROSIM CARD!
Caveat: I disagree with Ponoko charging over $10 USD for shipping of this tiny flat part and have contacted them on this (they are trying to come up with a solution). I suggest you contact them about shipping before ordering this part to see if you can get a better deal.
This design is provided free to the Public Domain for any and all use. Future adapters may be released under other licenses.
